Yara Birkeland By Yara Sets Sail
World’s First Autonomous and Emission-Free Containership The global shipping juggernaut otherwise known as Yara, based in Oslo has gone green. Moreover, they have shown an unprecedented committment to creating a more eco-friendly footprint.
Over the last few years Yara has spent unprecedented amounts of money on research to create an autonomous and emission-free vessel.
Is this the future or a jump too fast?
We shall see! As a result of this industry being in such an early stage. Only time will tell if these vessels can be run efficiently going forward, especially on a mass scale.
Maybe Yara can manage 1-100 autonomous vessels, but can they manage 10,000?
Lastly, Yara is hoping for her to operate starting in 2022!
