Will Scotland Leave The UK?

A few years ago, the issue about whether or not Scotland would be out of the UK has occupied the blocks of newspapers, the websites about current international affairs and micro blogs, which would be decided in the referendum on Scottish independence a few years back in 2014.

The result turned out that Scotland would stay according to the opinion polls at the percentage of votes for “no” to separation on 55.8 percent.

In the early 17th century, the two countries which used to be at war first combined as one. Queen Elizabeth I hadn’t married for various reasons related to the tension of politics and religions. Saying that she would devote her love, passion, even virginity to the British Empire. Consequently, when she died. She passed her throne to James in two religions, son of Queen Mary of Scotland. Who took part in the murder of her sister Elizabeth and was put to the guillotine, James was crowned as the king of both England and Scotland.

Then in 1707, Scotland joined the United Kingdom to save itself from economic troubles by signing the Acts of Union with England since when the discussion of Scotland’s stay or not has been around. Scotland has been treated even better than England such as the education expenses and it has its own Parliament, which means they are halfway to fully independence.

So why does Scotland want a divorce, after their 300-year co-operation?

There are mainly two reasons. The first is that originally Scotland was its own country and the people’s species are different. Scotland has a completely separated identity especially from England. The second was about its oil reserves which Scottish first Minister Alex Salmond believes could support the Scottish economy as an independent country and make the nation even better-off. But the reserves have been in charge of England.

Although the present Queen Elizabeth II chose to stand in the middle, she unusually talked with her citizens after going to church with two heirs when she pointed out that she wished they could think twice before leap. It means deep inside she hopes that Scotland will stay besides the princes. While the UK Prime Minister David Cameron delivered a moving and impressive speech: “If you don’t like me, I won’t be here forever. If you don’t like this government, it won’t last forever. But if you leave the UK, that will be forever”, which is thought to have saved the union.

After the consequence came out, Salmond resigned with his swollen desire and ambition vanishing like bubbles. We still have a complete kingdom and the beautiful Union Jack. We know our country will benefit most when we hang together. Thus, probably it is best when Scotland and England are still in combination. However, as the kingdom decays, the less power and funds Scotland might get. It is unsure whether Scotland will still be included in future.
