I. The evolution of the AI in our daily life

A. The definition of the artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that deals with the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans. It involves the development of algorithms and computer programs that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and language translation. The goal of AI is to create systems that can learn from experience and improve their performance over time, eventually becoming capable of making their own decisions and performing tasks without explicit human intervention. AI is an interdisciplinary field, drawing on ideas and techniques from computer science, mathematics, psychology, and many other areas.

The concept of artificial intelligence can become traced back to the mid-1950s.

When a group of researchers at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire held a conference that is widely regarded as the birth of the field. At the conference, these researchers laid out their vision for creating machines that could perform tasks that required human intelligence, such as understanding natural language, playing games, and solving problems.

The Dartmouth Conference, which was held in 1956 and is widely regarded as the birth of the field of AI, was a seminal event in the development of AI. The conference was organized by John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon, and it brought together a group of researchers who were interested in exploring the idea of building machines that could perform tasks that required human intelligence. Since then, many other researchers and scientists have made important contributions to the field of AI, including pioneers such as Herbert Simon, Allen Newell, and Elaine Rich, as well  as more recent researchers who have advanced the field through their work in areas such as  machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.

However, the development of AI as a scientific discipline really took off in the 1980s and 1990s.

With the advent of powerful computers and the availability of large amounts of data.  During this time, researchers made significant progress in developing AI algorithms and  systems, including expert systems, which were capable of making decisions based on a large  body of rules and knowledge, and machine learning algorithms, which enabled computers  to learn from experience and improve their performance over time.

Since then, AI has continued to evolve and make rapid progress, and it is now being used in  a wide range of applications, from self-driving cars and voice-activated virtual assistants to  fraud detection and medical diagnosis. The field of AI continues to be an active area of research, with new breakthroughs and innovations being made all the time.

Artificial intelligence systems work by using algorithms and statistical models to perform  tasks that typically require human intelligence. There are several different approaches to AI,  including:

Rule-based systems: These systems use a set of pre-defined rules to make decisions and  perform tasks. For example, an expert system might be programmed with a large body of  knowledge about a particular subject, and it would use this knowledge to answer questions  and make recommendations.

Machine learning: Machine learning algorithms enable AI systems to learn from experience  and improve their performance over time. There are several different types of machine  learning, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. Deep learning: Deep learning is a type of machine learning that uses artificial neural  networks to model complex patterns in data. Deep learning algorithms are particularly well suited for tasks such as image recognition, speech recognition, and natural language  processing.

Natural language processing: Natural language processing (NLP) is a subfield of AI that deals  with the interaction between computers and humans using natural language. NLP  algorithms are used for tasks such as language translation, sentiment analysis, and question  answering.

These AI systems typically operate by processing large amounts of data and using that data  to make predictions or decisions. For example, a machine learning algorithm might be  trained on a large dataset of images and their labels, and then use that training to identify  objects in new images. The more data an AI system has access to, and the more powerful its  processing capabilities, the better its performance will be.

II. What is Chat GPT

A. What is it exactly?

It’s a large language model created by OpenAI. It uses deep learning algorithms to  understand natural language and generate responses that are intended to be similar to  what a human might say. It has been trained on a massive dataset of human-generated text  and can therefore answer a wide variety of questions and engage in conversations on a  range of topics. My purpose is to assist users in obtaining information and understanding  complex ideas through natural language interactions.

As a language model, ChatGPT finds its answers by using a combination of techniques such  as natural language processing, deep learning, and artificial intelligence. When a user inputs  a question or prompt, ChatGPT analyzes the text to understand the context and the  meaning behind the words. It then uses its knowledge of language and patterns it has  learned from its training data to generate a response that is most likely to be relevant and  useful to the user.

ChatGPT’s responses are generated by calculating probabilities for each possible word in the  response based on the context and the probability of that word occurring in similar contexts  in the training data.

These probabilities are then combined to generate the final response. It is important to note that ChatGPT’s responses are generated based on patterns in the  training data and are not always accurate or appropriate. The quality of the responses  depends on the quality and relevance of the input provided by the user.

While ChatGPT is an impressive language model that can answer a wide range of questions,  it also has some limits. Some of these limits include:

-Lack of real-world experience: ChatGPT has not had any real-world experiences or  common-sense knowledge, which means it may provide answers that do not reflect the real  world.

-Bias in training data: The quality and biases of the training data used to train ChatGPT can  affect its responses, leading to incorrect or problematic answers.

-Inability to understand some nuances: ChatGPT may not be able to fully understand the  nuances of certain questions or situations that require context beyond the immediate text  input.

-Inability to reason: ChatGPT cannot reason or think critically, so it may not be able to  provide answers to questions that require logical or analytical reasoning. -Lack of emotional intelligence: ChatGPT may not be able to understand or respond  appropriately to emotional cues in language, such as sarcasm, irony, or humor.

Overall, while ChatGPT is a powerful tool for generating natural language responses, it is  important to recognize its limitations and use its responses as a starting point rather than  relying on them as the final answer.

III. How it can impact our life on short and long term ?

A. Is the human will be useless compared with this technology

It will depend on the vision we have of artificial intelligence.

Some opt for an optimistic view, others for a pessimistic one.

The advocates of the optimistic vision proclaim the short-term and long-term usefulness of  artificial intelligence for the development of humans as a whole. Since the main purpose of  artificial intelligence is to help humans with certain tasks in their personal or professional  lives, this would free up a certain amount of time in their daily lives for the sole purpose of  helping humans to develop even more.

The defenders of the pessimistic vision which tends towards a total transformation of the  natural order. As it develops, artificial intelligence would become dependent on any human  order and follow its own instincts. Instinct that could lead to the extinction of the human  race

Currently, artificial intelligence is present in many more fields than one might think.  Finance is a perfect example, with an increasing presence of artificial intelligence to improve  the performance of certain funds or to predict market movements.

Even if artificial intelligence becomes presented as the future best friend of humans. Thus, its use is still  feared by a large part of the world population, making its democratisation complex.

It is nevertheless normal to wonder whether in the future humans will find themselves in an  inferior position compared to artificial intelligence. However, no viable research could prove  this today.

B. What future for this industry?
