Venkatesh Kidambi is the Founder of Gyon Technologies Capital Management, LP (“GTCM”), which is a registered investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission in operation since Oct 2019. Venk Kidambi founded GTCM, a quantitative asset management company, to pursue an idea to bridge the process and methodology gaps between fundamental and quantitative long-short equity strategies. GTCM has since expanded into other areas as well. Kidambi manages and contributes to the entire quantitative process, from data management to alpha generation.
Prior to founding GTCM, from 2015 to 2017. Kidambi served as the Managing Director of Alpha Research at Citadel, and from 2010 to 2015 as the Director of Trading Research at Point 72 Asset Management, formerly SAC Capital.
Prior to that, he served as the head of Financial Engineering at Fidelity Capital Markets from 2006 to 2010. And as a Vice President in charge of the Fair Value Model product at Investment Technology Group, 2003 to 2006. Before finance, Kidambi worked as a scientist at GTE Internetworking/Genuity. Building traffic models and estimating internet flow patterns from 1999 to 2003. Kidambi earned a B.S. in Physics. A B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1994. And a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Theory from Northeastern University in 1999. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2007.
