USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, is a three-masted wooden-hulled heavy frigate of the United States Navy.

The USS Constitution sales past Castle Island in Boston, MA with 70 Medal of Honor Recipients on board the oldest commissioned ship. The ship had a “turn-around” in Boston Harbor in Boston, MA on Saturday, September 30th. 70 Medal of Honor Recipients were on board for the “turn-around”.

She is the world’s oldest ship of any type still afloat.

BOSTON (Sep. 1, 2006) — USS Constitution renders a 21-gun salute to the nation from her onboard guns during the year’s second Chief Petty Officer turnaround cruise in Boston Harbor. Two of “Old Ironsides” guns are outfitted with modern saluting batteries, which are fired twice every day at morning and evening colors. Each year, Constitution hosts approximately 300 CPO selectees for training, which includes sail handling, gun drill training and community outreach designed to instill leadership and teamwork skills.
