Stefan Jansen is the driving force and principal data scientist at Applied AI, providing guidance on data and AI strategies to a broad range of clients, including large corporations, investment firms, and emerging startups. He plays a pivotal role in assembling data science teams and crafting machine learning solutions. Prior to establishing his current enterprise, he served as a partner and managing director at a global investment company, where he established a foundation in predictive analytics and investment research. His professional journey also includes a key role at a major fintech corporation, overseeing operations across 15 countries.

Previously, Stefan offered his expertise to Central Banks in developing economies, undertook consulting projects for the World Bank, and was instrumental in securing a $35 million contribution from the Gates Foundation to co-establish the Alliance for Financial Inclusion. His international experience spans six languages and includes work in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Stefan’s educational background is extensive, holding Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and in Economics from Harvard as well as Free University Berlin. He is a recognized CFA Charterholder and the author of “Machine Learning for Trading”. Beyond his professional endeavors, he dedicates time to teaching data science at platforms like Datacamp and General Assembly.
