It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sherrie Ivie, aged 69, of Grantsville, Utah, who tragically lost her life in a head-on collision on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, in Tooele County. The accident occurred near mile post 99 on Interstate 80, when Sherrie’s maroon Ford Explorer crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle. Despite the prompt response of emergency services, Sherrie succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Sherrie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend to many. Known for her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family, she touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her sudden and unexpected passing leaves an immense void in the hearts of her loved ones and the community she served with kindness and compassion.
The other driver involved in the crash, a 61-year-old man, was critically injured and airlifted to a nearby hospital. His identity has not been released.
