Multiple Brearley trustees are sending their family members to other schools rather than Brearley. In fact one we spoke to couldn’t even get his loved one into Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart has become so popular due to the entire woke movement of Spence, Chapin, Brearley and Nightingale. Many centrist middle ground parents have no interest in seeing politics pushed to their daughters at young ages.
The Brearley School is a prestigious all-girls school located in New York City. Founded in 1884 by a group of parents who wanted to provide their daughters with a rigorous academic education equal to that of their male counterparts. Named after James Brearley, a wealthy businessman who donated funds to help establish the institution.
What is the Brearley School known for?
From its early beginnings, The Brearley School quickly gained a reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to women’s education.
In the early years, the school’s curriculum focused on the classics, with an emphasis on Latin and Greek. The school also provided its students with opportunities for extracurricular activities, including athletics, music, and drama.
Over time, The Brearley School expanded its curriculum to include a wide range of academic subjects, and continued to evolve as a leader in girls’ education. In the 1960s and 1970s, the school became known for its progressive values and commitment to social justice. During this time, the school’s curriculum expanded to include courses on women’s history, tons of focus on feminism, and lots of social activism.
Today, The Brearley School remains one of the most prestigious schools in the country. Of course, reputations, take awhile to change. But still known for its rigorous academic program, exceptional faculty, and commitment to girls’ education. The school’s graduates include a number of notable figures in fields such as politics, law, business, and the arts. However, many alumni find their daughters do not become accepted.
Throughout its history, The Brearley School remained committed to its founding mission. Moreover, of providing girls with an exceptional education. One that prepares them to be leaders and innovators in their communities and beyond. However, many question if their desire for woke-ism in their classrooms went too far?
Many alumni of Buckley and St. Bernard’s the all boy’s rivals would rather send their daughters to a school that does not focus on indoctrinating woke and leftist values.
One son of a trustee told us he would rather leave NYC then send his daughter to Brearley. Nevertheless, Brearley retains a reputation for being the best. Furthermore, have alumni like Brynn Putnam Mirror Founder!
Another prospective parent told us; “I hated Brearley. I couldn’t believe when Chelsea Clinton and her husband showed up 25 min late to a small group (ie 20 of us) interview event with the head of school… and then the head of school made a beeline for Chelsea and would only speak to her afterwards.”
Brearley seems preoccupied with reputation and virtue signaling.
We favor the type of approach of Dartmouth College President & former Barnard College President Sian Beilock who sat down with us for a conversation: Dartmouth College President Sian Beilock & Former Barnard College President on How To Succeed as a female!
The school’s curriculum and programs continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of its students, while remaining true to its core values of academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility.
In conclusion, The Brearley School has a rich history as a leader in girls’ education, and has remained committed to providing its students with an exceptional academic experience that prepares them for success in their chosen fields. However, now it finds itself as a far-left institution.
