Obituary for River Lane Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of River Lane Johnson, who tragically left us on July 26, 2024, at the age of 24. River was a dedicated and skilled Certified Welder/QC, employed by TEI Construction Services. Moreover, his commitment to his work, surpassed only by his devotion to his family and friends.

River was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Chelsey Alexandria Johnson, and a nurturing father to his young son, Creek Ridge Johnson, and newborn daughter, Nova Alexandria Johnson. In addition, his family was the center of his world, and his love for them was boundless. He was also a cherished son, brother, fun uncle, and loyal friend who touched the lives of many.

River was preceded in death by his uncle, William Scott Johnson, whom he admired greatly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Chelsey; his children, Creek and Nova; his parents, Chris Dewayne and Kimberly Michelle Johnson; his siblings, Harley (Tristan) Mason and Timber Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Chester and Debbie Steede; his paternal grandparents, Monroe Johnson and Judy Bonelli; his parents-in-law, Walter and Tina Wright; and his special nieces, Millie and Ellie Mason. River is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends who will deeply miss his vibrant presence and kind heart.

Visitation for River, held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Moments Funeral Home in Lucedale. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Warren Slay and Bro. Sid Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery.

River’s family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and condolences during this difficult time.

Lastly, River Lane Johnson, remembered for his loving nature, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering friendship. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
