Raymond C. Getty, 68, of New London, Passes Away
New London, CT — Raymond C. Getty, 68, of New London, passed away on October 11, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New London to Malcolm and Julia (Pitt) Getty, Raymond was a 1975 graduate of Waterford High School. He worked for over a decade at Walmart, where he was known for his kindness and caring nature.
Though Raymond faced many personal struggles throughout his life, he remained a compassionate and selfless individual, always putting the needs of others before his own. Despite the difficulties he encountered, he maintained his independence and refused to be a burden to those around him. In his passing, Raymond continued his giving nature by being an organ donor, helping other families in need through his generous gift.
Raymond is survived by his older brothers, Ronald Getty of Uncasville and David Getty, along with Amanda Getty, also of Uncasville; his niece, Heather Getty Montoya of Inlet Beach, Fla.; his nephew, Adam Getty of Waterford; as well as many cousins, and four great-nieces and nephews.
Raymond’s caring spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
