Perry Boyle Launches MITS Capital to Bolster Ukrainian Defense Industry

Kyiv, Ukraine—In a bold and innovative move, former Point 72 Senior Partner Perry Boyle founded MITS Capital, an investment bank dedicated to channeling investment into Ukraine’s burgeoning domestic defense sector. Despite initial skepticism, Boyle’s vision is proving to be both compelling and timely. “Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but the more you look at it, the more compelling it is,” Boyle stated.
Ukraine boasts the most innovative and cost-effective defense industrial base in Europe. “If you ever run over a mine, you want to be in a Kozzak instead of an OshKosh. And it is a third of the price,” Boyle emphasized, highlighting the superior affordability and innovation of Ukrainian defense technology.
MITS Capital has made significant strides in a short period, launching the first-ever defense tech accelerator in Ukraine. This initiative is a partnership with American University Kyiv and enjoys the backing of the Ukrainian military. Modeled after the Y Combinator accelerator, the program offers seed capital and a 15-week boot camp to nurture the next generation of defense tech startups. The inaugural cohort is set to commence tomorrow.
Beyond the accelerator, MITS Capital has already made direct investments in a groundbreaking drone company and is conducting due diligence on three additional potential investments. Boyle’s strategy is clear: invest in Ukraine’s defense sector now to reap substantial future rewards as the country stabilizes and grows.
With a venture fund in the pipeline, Boyle is actively seeking investors who share his vision.
“I am about to start fundraising for our venture fund, so if you know anyone who wants to buy the sound of the cannons to sell at the sound of the trumpets, send them my way,” he urged.
In just three months, MITS Capital has turned what seemed like a whirlwind idea into a rapidly advancing reality. Boyle’s venture promises not only to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities but also to position investors for significant returns in a stable, prosperous future for the country.
