After Oceaneering’s earnings announcement, we see a stock trading at $1.68 billion and around $300m of EBITDA. This compares to SLB, whom many believe will purchase OII quite favorably. SLB enjoys a market capitalization of $68.97 billion with $5 billion of run rate EBITDA. So if SLB acquires OII, as a result, SLB would realize most likely an immediate jump in EPS. Furthermore, synergies over the next 18 months after the hypothetical deal becomes consumatted could add further earnings for SLB. So will Olivier Le Peuch pull the trigger on this tack on acquisition? Only time will tell!
