Nam Nguyen is the Director and Co-Founder of NN2 Capital, a hedge fund specializing in volatility strategies, where he leads the firm’s research and development efforts. His expertise lies in volatility pricing, hedging models, and the development of arbitrage strategies.
Before founding NN2 Capital, Nam established Harbourfront Technologies, a quantitative advisory firm that developed interest rate and commodity models for institutional clients. Prior to that, he worked in management consulting, advising clients on asset-liability management, interest rate derivatives hedging, and model validation.
From 2009 to 2023, Nam served on the steering committee of the Toronto Professional Risk Managers’ Association, where he organized industry and academic seminars on quantitative finance. During this time, he also mentored several junior quantitative analysts.
Nam holds a Ph.D. in Computational Physical Chemistry from Laval University, with his thesis and postdoctoral research exploring quantum computing in its very early days, just as the field was beginning to take shape.
