Most Popular Global Museumships We thought it would be fun to calculate the 10 most visited museumships around the world!
Because of Covid, we will ignore 2020 and just look at 2019 statistics.
The Vasa : In 2019 the Vasa Museum welcomed over 1.5 million visitors. This is the most visited year in the museum’s entire history.

USS Midway : America’s most popular museumship, she saw over 1.4 million visitors in 2019.

German Submarine U-505 : Located in the awesome Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, this is a fantastic stop for anyone next time they visit the Windy City!

USS Constitution : Old Ironsides saw over 1.3 million visitors in 2019 as she continues to inspire new generations. is She is the oldest commissioned ship in the United States Navy and anywhere still afloat today.

USS Intrepid : In its eighth year of record attendance, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum saw over 1 million visitors in 2019.
Hikawa Maru is permanently berthed at the Yamashita Park in Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan.

Battleship Missouri Memorial : Mighty Mo saw more than 572,900 annual visitors for 2019 as visiting the USS Missouri (BB-63) has become a regular part of a trip to Hawaii.

USS Alabama : Battleship Memorial Park saw a huge jump in 2019 with 451,601 visitors, an increase of 24 percent from 2018.

USS Lexington : Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, she hosts about 350,000 visitors per year.

HMS Belfast : Located in the heart of London, this Royal Navy cruiser saw 327,206 visitors in 2019.

HMS Victory : She is the oldest commissioned warship in the world and attracts around 350,000 visitors per year.
USS Wisconsin : This awesome battleship sees about 338,000 annual visitors.

USS North Carolina : Battleship North Carolina saw over 250,000 visitors in 2019 as she has become one of the top tourist attractions in North Carolina.

USS Nautilus : This legendary US sub sees nearly a quarter million visitors each year at her home in eastern Connecticut at the US Submarine Force Museum and Library, Groton, CT.

Star Of India : The Maritime Museum of San Diego boasts over 150,000 annual visitors to see not just Star Of India, advertised as the world’s oldest working ship, but also a Soviet submarine, the schooner Californian, the replica frigate HMS Surprise and the steam ferryboat Berkeley.

Battleship IOWA Museum : Yes, America loves their USS Iowa (BB-61) and she saw nearly 300,000 total visitors in 2019.

The Battleship New Jersey : Docked across the river from Philadelphia, the USS New Jersey (BB-62) sees over 250,000 annual visitors.

USS Yorktown : Patriot’s Point located in beautiful South Carolina sees over 230,000 visitors per year!

HMS Alliance : This submarine sees nearly 200,000 visitors thanks to her placement at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum!

USS Texas : The pride of Texas attracts nearly 80,000 visitors to her park in Houston, Texas.

USS Olympia : Commodore George Dewey’s flagship sees over 90,000 annual visitors across the river from Battleship New Jersey.

USS Hornet : The USS Hornet Museum averages 80,000 visitors per year at the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum

USS Massachusetts : Battleship Cove saw more than 62,000 visitors in 2019.

USS Cod : She arrived in Cleveland in 1976 and attracts around 30,000 visitors every year. Yup, Cleveland is over 400 miles from the nearest ocean!

USS Salem : The world’s only preserved heavy cruiser is an awesome stop when your in Boston next, but we can’t find her annual attendance numbers! And she is only open on weekends.

William M. Black : Located in Iowa, she was a 1934 steam-propelled sidewheel dredge battling mud and silt buildup on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.
