The Roadster Originally Planned For 2020 Has Been Pushed Back To 2023
More Tesla Roadster Delays? Tesla Drops Pricing For Roadster Model Until a few days ago, prospective Tesla customer could purchase a Roadster for a $5,000 initial deposit plus a $45,000 deposit within 10 days. Furthermore, you also had the option of a Limited Edition Founder’s version of the Roadster for $250,000. Now there is no option to buy the limited edition Founder’s Series and furthermore, the pricing for the Roadster has vanished.
Moreover what makes the Roadster truely unique is the acceleration!
Tesla bills the Roadster as being the, “The quickest car in the world, with record-setting acceleration, range and performance.” On their website Tesla states the car can reach 0 to 60 miles per hour in 1.9 seconds.
You can still make a reservation for a Roadster with a $50,000 deposit, but the final price is not listed anymore.
Acceleration Levels: 0-60 mph 1.9 sec 0-100 mph 4.2 sec 1/4 mile 8.8 sec
Top Speed: Over 250 mph
Wheel Torque: 10,000 Nm
Mile Range: 620 miles
Drive: All-Wheel Drive
Base Reservation: $50,000
Why has the Roadster been delayed, we were suppossed to have this in our driveways last year!
Firstly, Tesla complained about battery restraints. Secondly, we were hearing about how Tesla was ramping up production of both the Model 3 and Model Y. And as a result, pushed the production date further into the future.
But, now apparently Tesla is focusing on the Cybertruck and that might have resulted in a potential further release date pushback. This coupled with the supply chain bottlenecks that originally got Elon to push the date back to 2023, makes one wonder if 2024 or 2025 is on the horizon now?
Lastly, the pricing for the Roadster disappeared between November 13th and December 12th.
