Homicide Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting of Micah Pruitt on Gallavista Avenue
Detectives with the Homicide Unit are actively investigating Wednesday’s shooting on Gallavista Avenue that claimed the life of 18-year-old Micah Pruitt and injured a 20-year-old man. The two men arrived at Skyline Medical Center shortly after 6 p.m. in a Toyota Camry, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The 20-year-old, who was driving the Camry, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been treated and released. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes, indicating the severity of the shooting. Sadly, Pruitt succumbed to his injuries after arriving at the hospital.
Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting occurred during an apparent drug transaction. Detectives are following active leads and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
