Lily Basil Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Lily Basil, a recent graduate of Page High School in Franklin, who tragically lost her life on Saturday due to an accidental shooting involving an AR-15 style rifle. She was just 18 years old.
Lily had recently graduated from Page High School, where she quickly became a cherished member of the community. Known for her kindness, sweet nature, and respectful demeanor, Lily’s radiant smile brought light to every room she entered. Although she was a new addition to the Page High family, she fully embraced the Patriot spirit and formed lasting friendships with everyone she met. Her absence will be deeply felt by her classmates, teachers, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dr. Katie Hill, the principal of Page High School, shared her thoughts on this heartbreaking loss: “The Page High family mourns the loss of 2024 graduate Lily Basil. Lily was a beacon of light; she was kind, sweet, and incredibly respectful. Her smile illuminated every room she walked into. Despite being new to the Page community, she quickly adopted the Patriot spirit and became a friend to all. Page faculty, staff, and students will miss her dearly, and we are committed to honoring her memory by continuing to spread her light.”
To support the school community during this difficult time, counselors will be available at Page High School for students and staff.
A celebration of Lily’s life will be held by her family at Rolling Hills Community Church on Friday at 11:30 a.m. All who knew and loved Lily are invited to attend and pay their respects.
Lily Basil will be forever remembered for her bright spirit and the joy she brought to the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace.
