Judith Gu, MS, MBA, CPA
Judith Gu is the US Head of Quantitative Research and a Managing Director at UBS, where she leads quantitative research initiatives focused on developing innovative analytical frameworks, investment strategies, and data-driven solutions for global financial markets.
Prior to joining UBS, Judith spent more than eight years at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets, where she served as Managing Director and Head of Equities & eFX Quantitative Strategy. She previously led Equity Quantitative Strategy for US Equity Sales and Trading, building research platforms and quantitative models to support institutional investors and trading teams across global markets.
Before Scotiabank, Judith spent over 13 years at Goldman Sachs, where she held senior roles within Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Quantitative Investment Strategy (QIS) group and the Securities Division Strategy team. Her work focused on quantitative equity research, systematic investing, portfolio construction, factor analysis, and the application of statistical techniques to investment decision-making.
Earlier in her career, Judith was a Senior Vice President at Citadel Investment Group and began her career at Morgan Stanley, where she developed expertise in quantitative research and financial modeling.
Recognized as one of Wall Street’s leading female quantitative researchers, Judith has built a distinguished career at the intersection of mathematics, technology, and finance. Her research and leadership have helped shape the evolution of quantitative investing, combining rigorous analytical methods with practical applications across global equity and foreign exchange markets.
