Jose Victor Regalado Jr., 30, of Fillmore, Tragically Killed in Highway 101 Accident
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Jose Victor Regalado Jr., 30, of Fillmore, California. Jose was fatally struck by an SUV on the shoulder of Highway 101 near Las Varas Canyon Road in Gaviota on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
The accident occurred around 12:35 p.m. when 76-year-old Solvang resident Timothy Bee, driving a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, veered onto the right shoulder of the highway for reasons still under investigation. Jose, who was attempting to enter his parked Ford 5350, was fatally sideswiped by the vehicle. Despite the swift response of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, Jose tragically lost his life at the scene.
Jose is survived by his loving wife and two young sons. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, whose warm spirit and dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
