Jonathan Berkow stands as the Senior Vice President and the Director of Data Science within the Equities sector at AB. He is pioneering in his approach to integrating alternative and big data sources into various equity research methodologies and systematic strategies. Berkow’s work involves a holistic approach to data science, encompassing a full spectrum from data strategy and acquisition—including web scraping, mapping, and cleaning—to ensuring data quality and generating actionable insights through signal processing and alpha generation. He further amplifies the data’s predictive power using advanced machine learning techniques, sentiment analysis, and natural language processing (NLP).
Prior to his tenure starting in 2018 at AB, Berkow applied his systematic and analytical prowess as a portfolio manager and researcher within esteemed hedge funds including Element Capital Management and Kepos Capital.
Beginning at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where Berkow excelled in managing quantitative research and overseeing global equity portfolios.
Dedicated to advancing the field, Berkow is committed to promoting cutting-edge data solutions, strategies, and technologies.
