Charleston Man Identified as Victim in Deadly Wadmalaw Island Shooting
WADMALAW ISLAND, SC — Authorities have identified 43-year-old John Ladson, of Charleston, as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning. Ladson passed away around 3 a.m. at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) from a gunshot wound, according to Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the incident. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of Maybank Highway around 2 a.m., where they discovered Ladson and transported him to MUSC.
The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement continues to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
