John Douglas Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Douglas, age 55, of Redding, California. John tragically lost his life in a violent attack on Monday, July 29, 2024.
John was discovered by a security guard early Monday morning, around 5:40 a.m., on a discarded sofa behind a building at 20 Lake Boulevard. Police arrived at the scene and found John with severe trauma to his face and head. An investigation ensued, eventually leading to the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect, who has been charged with murder and is currently held at the Shasta County Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility.
John Douglas was a beloved member of the Redding community. His untimely death has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him. The Shasta County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity, and his next of kin have been notified. A postmortem examination has been scheduled to provide further insights into this tragic incident.
The case is still under active investigation by the Redding Police Department and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.
