With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of John Dale Greathouse Jr., who passed away on August 30, 2024, at the age of 76, with his beloved wife by his side. Born in Hundred, West Virginia, on August 10, 1948, to John Dale Greathouse Sr. and Nora Nadine (Jones) Greathouse, John moved to Independence, West Virginia, in 1995, where he lived for 30 years. After a dedicated career at GM, he continued to serve his community as a bus driver for Preston County Schools, Newburgh Headstart, and WVU. John’s passions included hunting, camping, and taxidermy, with one of his greatest joys being time spent in the mountains. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rosetta, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and children Gary and Tina.
In conclusion, we offer our love and compassion to the family in the coming days and weeks. In addition, years. Moreover, this pain never ends for most, one must accept such. Furthermore, often families request privacy. However, almost always, support during this incredibly difficult time. Lastly, this spirit will become deeply missed and forever remembered.
