IIM Nagpur Celebrates Republic Day

Nagpur, January 26:

“The time has come for India to lead the world, and we must play our role with
responsibility and confidence,” said Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, during
the institute’s 77th Republic Day celebrations held on campus.
Dr Metri highlighted that India’s steady progress has been safeguarded by the
Constitution, which has strengthened the country’s democratic values, unity and development.
He noted that India is witnessing a crucial phase where the nation is increasingly providing
leadership to the world, making this a significant time for the country’s growth story.
Dr Metri further encouraged students and young leaders to adopt Indian ethos and understand
the relevance of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in building values-based leadership. He
emphasised that organisations which blend tradition with technology create long-term
success and lasting legacy.
Earlier, the Republic Day celebrations began with the flag hoisting ceremony and security
march-past, followed by the National Anthem. A vibrant cultural programme was organised
thereafter, showcasing the creativity and patriotic spirit of the campus community. Students
presented self-written poetry on patriotic themes, while the Drama Club staged an engaging
play on the inclusion of Hyderabad and Goa into India, highlighting the spirit of unity and
nation-building.
Adding energy to the celebrations, the official Dance Club of IIM Nagpur presented powerful
and vibrant performances, while the official Music Club presented a short concert featuring
patriotic songs, creating a truly festive and inspiring atmosphere.
