Nagpur, July 23, 2025 — Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) commemorated its 10th Foundation Day with a dynamic celebration that combined institutional milestones, community engagement, and a strong focus on well-being. Under the theme “सृजन से उत्कृष्टता की ओरः आईआईएम नागपुर का एक दशक” (From Creation to Excellence), the institute highlighted a decade of progress in management education and campus development.

The day began with the formal inauguration of a newly constructed Pickleball Court by Director Prof. Bhimaraya Metri. The court, designed to promote physical wellness and recreational balance, reflects IIM Nagpur’s evolving commitment to holistic student development. The addition underscores the campus’s broader emphasis on integrating wellness infrastructure into academic life.
A key moment of the celebration was the honoring of seven staff members who have served IIM Nagpur since its inception in 2015. Their long-standing contributions were recognized as integral to the growth and culture of the institute. Their dedication, noted Prof. Metri, laid the groundwork for the success IIM Nagpur enjoys today.
Another highlight was the release of a special Coffee Table Book that chronicles IIM Nagpur’s first ten years. Rich with images and narratives, the publication captures milestones in academics, infrastructure, outreach, and student life—offering a visual legacy of how far the institute has come.
In his keynote remarks, Prof. Metri reflected on a series of academic achievements: “In 2021, we launched both our Executive Education and PhD programs, and in 2022, we introduced our Executive MBA in Pune—an important step in expanding our reach.” He also emphasized the institute’s environmental commitment, noting its GRIHA green building certification: “Our campus was designed to be energy efficient and sustainable, which aligns with our long-term vision.”
Looking forward, he shared that the next phases of the campus expansion—Phases 2 and 3—are set to begin soon, laying the foundation for even greater capacity and innovation. “At IIM Nagpur,” he said, “students are at the core of every decision we make. They shape our mission and are key to our future.”
The event also featured a large-scale outreach initiative involving 79 students from 18 schools across Nagpur. Visiting the campus for a day of creative and educational competitions, schoolchildren took part in drawing and impromptu speaking events designed to encourage self-expression and introduce them to a higher education environment. The enthusiasm and energy of the young participants added a celebratory spirit to the occasion.
Senior leadership from across the institute, including Prof. Prashan Gupta (Dean – Faculty & Academics), Prof. Alok Kumar Singh (Dean – Executive Education), Prof. Sujit K. Sharma (Dean – Research), and Chief Administrative Officer Lt. Col. Alur (Retd.), shared insights into the institute’s strategic direction and ongoing academic and administrative initiatives.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks acknowledging the efforts of faculty, staff, students, and the organizing team. More than a look back, the 10-year milestone was framed as a springboard for continued innovation, ethical leadership, and inclusive education. With bold plans underway and a decade of experience behind it, IIM Nagpur reaffirmed its place as a rising force in India’s management education landscape.
