Nagpur, August 10, 2025 – The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur has inaugurated Margadarshan, a flagship mentorship program created to guide its MBA students from classroom to corporate careers. Launched for the incoming 2025-27 batch, the initiative connects students with 72 seasoned industry leaders across diverse sectors, offering personalized mentorship and professional guidance.
The inauguration was graced by Chief Guest Rajeev Dubey, Former Chairman of Mahindra First Choice Wheels, Mahindra Insurance Brokers, and Mahindra Steel Service Centre, and a member of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Governing Body in Geneva. Joining him was Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, who described Margadarshan as “a catalyst for shaping ethical, innovative, and resilient leaders.” He emphasized that technical skills must be paired with adaptability, emotional intelligence, and societal responsibility to meet the demands of a rapidly changing business landscape.
Delivering the keynote, Mr. Dubey urged students to redefine leadership as a service. “Leadership is not about power; it is about purpose. It is the courage to stand for what is right, the humility to listen, and the resilience to thrive amid uncertainty. Success will come when you align your personal goals with the greater good,” he said. He added that mentorship provides “real-world wisdom that no textbook can replicate.”
Prof. Prashant Gupta, Dean of Faculty & Academics, highlighted that the program is more than a networking opportunity. “It’s a sustained engagement where mentors and mentees co-create learning experiences,” he said. The launch included interactive sessions where mentors shared career stories, leadership insights, and sectoral perspectives, offering students a first-hand understanding of corporate challenges.
The event was also attended by Prof. Alok Kumar Singh (Dean – Executive Education), Prof. Prakash Awasthy (Chairperson – MBA), Prof. Shailendra Nigam (Chairperson – CDS), and Prof. Devashis Rath, who commended Margadarshan for strengthening industry readiness among IIM Nagpur students.
