Huw Richards 9fin Data & Ai Capital Markets Mind

Huw Richards is Head of Customer Partnerships at 9fin, bringing more than three decades of experience across investment banking, debt capital markets, infrastructure finance, digital transformation, and financial technology.
Prior to joining 9fin, Richards spent more than two decades at J.P. Morgan, where he held a series of senior leadership positions across the firm’s global investment banking businesses. Most recently, he served as Head of the Digital Investment Bank, leading transformation initiatives across client coverage, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets, with a focus on applying emerging technologies to improve client decision-making and execution.
Previously, Richards served as Co-Head of Global Investment Grade Finance and Co-Head of Global Infrastructure Finance and Advisory. In these roles, he was responsible for originating and distributing financing across global investment-grade markets and advising clients on the financing of infrastructure assets. Earlier, he led J.P. Morgan’s EMEA Debt Capital Markets business from London and previously headed the firm’s General Industry Debt Capital Markets team in North America.
Richards began his career at J.P. Morgan in 1999 after earlier experience trading foreign exchange options on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Over his career, he has worked with a broad range of corporate, financial institution, governmental, and infrastructure clients across global capital markets.
In addition to his banking career, Richards has held board and advisory roles with financial technology companies and organizations, including H4 and Triton. He also served as Managing Partner at Bridge Insight.
Richards holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of California, Berkeley.
