Company Name:
Tailong Amusement Industry Co., Ltd.
Location:
1000 Dewing Ave
Lafayette, California, 94549 USA
Sponsor Information
Lee Pei is the general manager of the Tailong company. Lee Pei created many excellent products for Tailong and presided over the investment in many water parks. Lee pays attention to the development of high-tech in the industry. In 2018, he led the research and development of the world’s first zero-height electromagnetic ejection roller coaster with independent intellectual property rights. Since the outbreak of the Covid-19, Lee has been focusing on researching products and expanding the company’s market overseas.
Problem Description/Opportunity
Tailong Amusement Industry Company specializes in water park engineering, including design, manufacturing, construction, installation, and other related project services. Tailong successfully developed its business in Asia. Most of its clients come from word of mouth. In the face of limited marketing strategy, saturated market size, and fierce competition with other companies, combined with the influence of Covid-19’s outbreak, Tailong is suffering low profit and high inventory problems. Tailong hopes to expand overseas markets to help its business reach new markets, new opportunities, and build its global brand awareness.
For Asian businesses, finding international buyers and partners does not always come easy. First, the company must decide how its business should enter the market and then support its efforts with services from U.S. commercial partners. Usually, there are some trade shows which will help find foreign customers. Since Covid19 is influencing, most businesses are transferred to online markets. No matter what kinds of channels the company will expand, a company website is always the channels’ support.
As an Asian company, Tailong faces a language barrier, geographic issues, time differences, different contact methods, and mere market strategies while entering and expanding to American markets.
So, Tailong urgently needs to build its website as a platform to introduce its products and business to global markets. An official corporate website allows buyers and sellers to exchange information quickly and easily without any language, time nor distance issues. It provides convenience to the user by allowing them to obtain the information they require from the comfort of their own home, without being pressured to buy. This platform can continue to find and secure new customers to help the company find overseas corporate opportunities.
Importance of the project
Living in the digital age, owning a website is essential for any business. Having a website and online presence strategy allows a company to market business online. A website helps display a company’s business scope and builds opportunities by accomplishing different marketing strategies to help a business grow everywhere. Websites also provide a map and directions to the company’s offices for visitors to find their location easily.
As a traditional Chinese company, owning its corporate website means owning an excellent platform to display company specialization and business scope without the language and geographic barrier. Website pages will be the first place for potential clients to know about this company. With this website, Tailong can list its office location, contact information, exhibit images and discretion of its service and products, and use contact forms to facilitate inquiries from potential customers or feedback from existing ones.
Tailong can have the opportunity to reach more potential markets without time and space limitations. Besides, an official website can accomplish various marketing strategies to help Tailong grow in a new market. Especially after the pandemic outbreak, people are more used to digital life, and business is more used to being accomplished online. Owning a website will offer a far more extensive influence than any other form of advertising. This website will be the center of Tailong’s online presence. It will help promote social media channels and build up its own community with its customers and corporations.
They can advertise their business around the web on social networking sites, forums, and through pay-per-click advertising programs. When Tailong provides high-grade service and products, the company can receive positive reviews too. Tailong will give a positive impression to clients and build a solid reputation and awareness through the website.
Alternate Solutions Evaluated
When building an official website, both the website’s character and the website’s content layout should be decided before execution.
Website’ Character: a static website or a dynamic website.
Static Websites:
In Static Websites, Web pages are returned by the server, which is prebuilt source code files by using simple languages such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. Static Websites do not process content on the server (based on the user’s preferences). Static websites are quick since the server returns the same pages every time. There is not any database interaction. They are also less expensive than dynamic websites because the host does not handle server-side processing in multiple languages.
Pros:
Low cost: company does not need to purchase expensive servers to handle different languages or complicated interactions with users.
Quick: there is no pre-requirement to identify complex programming languages. Pages come quickly to users.
Cons:
No interaction with the database: less interaction with users might influence users’ retention or conversion.
Hard to update when doing the modification, every page might be influenced.
Dynamic Websites:
In Dynamic Websites, the server returns Web pages processed during runtime, which means they are not pre built web pages but are made according to the user’s request using server-side scripting languages like PHP, Node.js, ASP.NET, and others that the server supports. As a result, they are slower than static websites, but updates and database interaction are feasible. Unlike static websites (which require changes to each page), Dynamic Websites allow for a single change to be made for it to be reflected across all web pages.
Pros:
Easy to update updates can be made more simply and efficiently when the company needs modifications.
Good user experience: High users Interact with users might bring better user experience and users’ retention.
Cons:
Slower speed: dynamic website returned according to users’ demand
Higher cost: more development costs
Website Content Layout
Every company owns its image and style, depending on its business scope and spirit. Choosing the best way to show users a company’s business or products will leave users a good impression and increase users’ likeness to this company. There are many templates that websites can use, but in the face of so many options, the project should still find the ideal match for the company.
Single Column Layout:
It’s easy and popular. Single-column layouts are fantastic for generating a pleasant reading experience since they keep the user’s attention on the content and eliminate distractions on either side. That is why Medium, a popular blogging platform, uses it for all its content. Besides, when combined with photography, it can have a big impact because it allows you to present the photos as large as possible.
Content-focused layout:
A content-focused layout usually has a central column and one or more side columns for extra detail. This layout allows a developer to control the line length of the content by altering the width of the side columns. It is great for any copy-centric website when done correctly. The key is to divide the content in this layout into small, digestible parts. This layout is often used to display blogs or news content.
Magazine Layout:
This layout is good at telling a story by combining images and texts. It is also a great layout for highlighting content that changes frequently. That is why it is so popular on news websites. This layout is not suitable for a high number of graphics and might make a complete change for smaller screen devices.
Grid Breaking Layout:
Grid Breaking Layouts are for elements that break the underlying grids. They are great when designers consider a full-screen design. This layout is suitable for catching users’ attention to special specific screen items. This layout is also good to overlay texts on images. The drawback of grid-breaking layouts is hard to adjust and design.

This layout is good for catching users’ attention to special specific screen items. This layout is also good to overlay texts on images. The drawback of grid breaking layout is that they are hard to adjust and design.
Alternating Layout
The alternating layout is straightforward, reliable. It’s standard on web pages. It is composed of a sequence of content blocks, each of which has a two-column layout. Typically, the blocks have an image on one side and text on the other. It’s a layout technique that’s very useful for describing a product’s characteristics or benefits. Videos can also be placed in these blocks.
Card-Based Layout:
Card-based layouts are a terrific method to show people many options or products to pick from. This layout will also provide browsers with enough information to make an informed decision. As a result, they are a popular choice for eCommerce sites’ product listings pages. It enables the website to display a product image, a description, and a price. When using cards, it is best to incorporate an image. That means having trouble finding photographs for each of the list items. The other minor issue is the differing amounts of content. If one card contains more information than another, white space might be left within or between each row.
Full-Screen Layout
This layout is good at grabbing attention when clients first arrive on websites. They are ideal for displaying strong graphics, drawings, or videos.
Split Screen Layout
When people want to provide consumers with a clear binary decision, they can use a similar example. In that case, a split-screen makes much sense because it divides the screen evenly between the two alternatives.
Asymmetrical layout
An asymmetrical design allows dividing the screen as designers like, whereas a split-screen layout mandates an equal split down the middle of the viewport. This layout has an advantage over split-screen in that it allows designers to emphasize a specific half of the page. The more real estate a side has, the more attention it receives. As a result, you will distinguish between primary and secondary content. The asymmetrical layout is a fantastic decision in many respects. It is adaptable, simple to apply, and underutilized. It is a simple method to make the website stand out without the hassle of other options.
Solution Evaluation Criteria
Website’ Character
To evaluate the above two solutions, the project team will combine the company’s specific requirements and project limitations. The project team mainly considers the budget limitation, the project schedule, website feature, and future development.
Cost: according to the budget, the cost will be critical when selecting solutions in the beginning.
Website speed: With many images showing on the websites, low website speed will influence users’ browsing experience.
Interaction with database: interaction with database impacts interaction with users, which will impact users’ retention.
Development time: the amount of time of developing a website should be under schedule
Modification: if it is easy to update or modify the website in the future.
Website Content Layout
To choose the website’s content layout, the project team will consider company style, website content, website development time, and development costs.
Company Style: Tailong hopes to show clients a reliable, efficient, and innovative image as a water theme park business company. So, the pages on the website will be well-organized and will take advantage of tidy and clean layouts.
Suitable for graphics: Tailong will show many accomplishments and projects to display its capability and experience. Products images with text will also be covered. The layout should be good to display images and text.
Complexity: Due to the limited time of the whole project, the layout should be straightforward and easy to code.
Cost: Paid layout is not acceptable.
Selection Rational
Website’ Character
Tailong company’s website will consist of the primary information about the company’s products, services scope, and successful project experience. According to Tailong’s market strategy, they will sign up for global social media accounts and add digital marketing plans, so future modification and update of the website is within the long-term plan. However, as most of Tailong’s projects and products are big and their accomplishments usually take a long time, the website’s content will not frequently be updated once decided. Most of their final functions have not been decided. So, a static website without high development cost nor high server cost is appropriate for Tailong’s beginning phase. A static website is functional enough for all Tailong’s required contents and is quick for loading all pages; besides, building a static website does not need to take a long time, maintaining the website’s fulfillment within schedule. So, for the initial website is the main structure and a basement for future refinement. A static website will be a better solution for this project.
Website Content Layout
Firstly, the project must be created within 15 weeks. Due to the limited time, complicated design and some complicated website functions might not be realized. Besides, the company does not want to pay much on website design, and a paid fancy layout will never be considered.
Then, this project is a corporate website that will be an excellent platform to display Tailong company specialization. A bunch of graphics showing Tailong company’s products and main projects will be the main content on the website. These images will be expressed with a simple description of these products and projects to catch potential clients’ attention. The project team will take advantage of a content-focused layout to place a slide gallery containing Tailong’s unique successful water-theme park projects in the center on the main page. After that will be the Tailong company’s mission. Tailong has four critical missions about their carelessness and passion for the water park equipment business. The four of them are equally critical for successful projects. This part will utilize a card-based layout to arrange missions in order and provide browsers with information on Tailong company’s advantages and capabilities.
There will be a bunch of large outstanding water theme park projects’ displays on the project page, which will cover both photos and descriptions. In this part, the project team will choose the alternating layout, which is straightforward and decisive. This standard content web page layout will not spend much time adjusting the contents’ position and results. With a sequence of two-column content blocks, both the projects’ images and descriptions will be laid out well.
Approach and Methodology
SWOT and Porter’s Five Forces analysis will be used in this project before implementing the website’s construction. The WBS and the waterfall approach will be used to control and manage the whole project.
The whole project will include five main phases: initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout:
Initiation: The project starts from the project team’s evaluation and recommendation. Then the project manager will compose the Project Charter. As the Project Charter is finished, the Project Sponsor will review and approve the project’s execution.
Planning: In the planning phase, the project team will finish the situational analysis by SWOT and Porter’s Five Forces analysis methodology. The project manager will break work into smaller tasks and create WBS to help the project be more manageable and approachable. Then the project manager will draft and submit a Project Plan.
Execution: In the execution phase, the project manager, project sponsor, and project stakeholder will have a project kickoff meeting to start the project’s execution. There will be some subphases while building the website. Firstly, the project team should finish the websites’ functional specification documents and collect website content. These works are critical for future website design and build. Then the project team will complete the website design, including website structure and functions. Afterward, the whole team will code and debug the website according to the design and the requirement specification documents. Finally, the project manager will have a meeting with the sponsor to decide to launch the website.
Control: In the control phase, the project team will fix website bugs and accomplish the Google Analytics function’ setup. The project manager will update the project management plan and export a Google Analytics Report to show the success of Google Analytics’ setup.
Closeout: When the project comes to an end, all files and records will be updated. The sponsor should sign off the project. The project manager will fulfill a Project Final Report to submit to NYU.

Risk Analysis
In this project, the risk might include project cost, performance, operational, market, strategic, and scope creep risks.
To examine each potential risk and identify and prioritize risks. All risks will be evaluated by assessing the risk event in terms of likelihood of occurrence and impact on project objectives if the risk event occurs.
The following values make up the impact score:
• Marginal (1 point): The threat can be controlled or will most likely result in minimal illness, injury, or system damage.
• Moderate (2 points): The threat is likely to cause severe injury or disease, as well as significant system damage, necessitating prompt action.
• Critical (3 points): The hazard will likely result in significant or fatal system loss, necessitating an urgent halt to the hazardous activity or operation.
The following values make up the likelihood score:
• Improbable (1 point): Unlikely but not impossible.
• Occasional (2 points): Likely to happen at some point.
• Probable (3 points): Likely to happen frequently.
Behind each danger, the risk probability score and the impact assessment score will be recorded.
Table 9-1Risk Analysis Table
Number | Risk | Probability Score (1,2 or 3) | Impact Score (1,2 or 3) |
| 1 | Cost Risk | 3 | 1 |
| 2 | Performance Risk | 2 | 3 |
| 3 | Operational Risk | 3 | 3 |
| 4 | Market Risk | 1 | 3 |
| 5 | Strategic Risk | 1 | 2 |
| 6 | Scope creep risk | 2 | 2 |
Risk Matrix
Following the prioritization of risks, all risks are put into the risk matrix. The matrix determines the level of risk by weighing the categories of probability against the severity of the consequences.
Risks of various colors will be allocated to various levels.
Green represents a low-risk situation, yellow represents a moderate risk, and red represents a high-risk situation.

Table 9-3 Contingency Plan
| Risk | Description | Probability (1-3) | Exposure (1-3) | Contingency Plan |
| 1 | Project needs extra cost during the process. | 2 | 1 | |
| 2 | Project can’t meet the specifications and can’t perform as expected. | 2 | 3 | The website will still work. In the meantime, the project manager and project team will still be working on project optimization. |
| 3 | During operation, the project encounters poor implementation and process problems. | 3 | 3 | The website will stop, the project manager and project team will still be working on solving the problem. If the operation problem is urgent, another staff member will be hired to solve professional problems. |
| 4 | Market risk includes bigger competition, full commodity markets, higher interest rates and foreign exchange | 1 | 3 | |
| 5 | Strategic Risk: Incomplete project might result in mistakes when making strategies | 1 | 2 | |
| 6 | Scope creep risk: project scope is not controlled well as intended project scope and may lead to the extra cost of additional features, products, or functions. | 2 | 2 |
Issues Encountered
There were three issues the project team met during the project. These problems caused tasks to be delayed for two times according to WBS, and more cost of the project. However, they are minor problems and were solved quickly, so there was no significant impact on the whole project from these issues.
The first issue is about the website contents. Some of the images offered by the company could not be used for the website because of their low pixels and blur imaging which will influence the website’s quality and user experience. Our team members spent more time dealing with these photos to make them appropriate on the websites. However, the company still needed to retake a couple of them if it persisted in using them. The company decided to offer another two photos to replace the unqualified two, saving project time.
The second issue is the budget. The website server will cost extra money, which is not covered in the original budget. Besides, the domain fee of the new website should be renewed every year, which will add future website maintenance fees. Because the fee is not a significant sum, the company delighted offered a larger budget.
The third issue is the schedule issue. Another website occupied the first domain name the company brought up initially, which means the sponsors should hold another meeting with company stakeholders to decide on a new name. The process led to one day’s delay of the whole project. Finally, the company got a satisfied domain name from Google.
In addition, the project team missed counting domain setup time. Google took two days to review a new website, the first time the connection of domain and website failed, the team fixed it immediately, but this led to another two days’ delay of Google Analytics’ set up and record. Luckily, Google Analytics offers real-time data. As the data appears, there is no problem with the final connection.

Lessons Learned
The project plan and schedule were well-documented, with appropriate structure and detail. The project was accomplished on schedule, and the project outcome matches what has been defined in the project charter.
From the initiation to closeout, the whole project was accepted by the sponsor, during the whole project, the whole team learned a few valuable lessons along the way.
Here are lessons learned from the project:
Find the solution for project problems
When initiating a new project, don’t search for only the project concept. Instead of thinking about a website to build, consider it a problem to be fixed every time. Then during the whole creation, if any issue happens, when the new solution should be found, the whole project team will be more motivated and active instead of frustrated.
Secondly, The Working Breakdown Sheet was quite useful.
Find a responsible sponsor
Owning a supportive team and clients is essential. It is an everyday issue, and misunderstandings happen every minute. Only with good communication and support from the project team and clients would problems be solved quicker and better. Otherwise, delays might happen anytime.
Useful WBS
The Working Breakdown Sheet was quite useful. Although the team should be building a website with a strategy in mind, it’s also critical to set precise timelines so the project may meet its objectives. The project manager needs to organize the project plan properly if the result of turning on the new site is delayed for one week from now (that is extremely fast). If the whole project is behind schedule (which happens — as it happened here), make the necessary adjustments.
A supportive sponsor always helps a lot, but there might also be an exception when a sponsor is busy with other staff or on holiday. So, make sure the sponsor is aware of the deadlines as well.
When we say that the project manager should set timelines for the sponsor, we mean that the project manager should communicate to the provider about a reasonable response time for getting queries answered and the job done. What the sponsors consider reasonable may not align with the project team’s needs. Ensure the project team is on board; it will not be nirvana every time the project team needs anything, but the team can at least aim for a certain level of response.
Communication is the key to solve problems
Communication is always the most critical thing when in a project, among team members and clients. Disagreement always exists, and every side has its consideration. If other solutions would be better, accept that you may not always have the best way to do some tasks. Specific project tasks may be better planned or carried out more efficiently.
Always be open to learning. You will improve if you are willing to learn.
Always make a Plan-B
Finally, the project team should always prepare backup, not only the content of the project’s backup but also prepare the time for the wrong trail. The issue might happen anytime. Without backup, all endeavors might fly away, and then the project might be out of schedule.
Find real users to test the outcome
No website is complete until tested and utilized by its target audience. After getting the target consumers to test and provide feedback on the project, the project can be viable, reliable, and usable. Real-world testing and feedback are critical for increasing the quality of a website and creating a project and product that end consumers desire and enjoy using. Google Analytics also needs real users’ browsing to gain data and show its function.
Ship Early and Get Feedback
Waiting for the “perfect time” to launch a website is a waste of time. If you don’t send it to them, you’ll never know how they’ll react. As you receive input from your users, you can make iterations along the way.
The project team doesn’t have to deploy everything at once. The website could start as soon as it finished, then go to the Google Analytics connection. The website will be able to start gaining traction and receiving feedback sooner if you do it this way. The team will also be able to make better selections depending on what the users have to say.
Conclusion and Summary
This project built an official website for the Tailong company to display the company’s specialization and outcomes. This website is an interface for Tailong Water Park Amusement to communicate with potential clients. The company shows its professionalism to clients and attracts potential customers to contact the company. It created a channel to reach a bigger market and initiate business expansion. The website will help initiate its bridge to the foreign market, reach more overseas clients and markets, and build its brand awareness.
The project team successfully finished the whole project and composed all documents and project files during the project. The project team composed the project charter, fulfilled requirement specification documents, collected content, developed the web, set up Google Analytics, and delivered the first week’s data report. This project is not only to finish a project to complete the capstone course. It is also a project that could solve a real-world problem.
After an initial meeting, the project team collected the company’s requirements and contents from the sponsors, then fulfilled the website’s design and creation. The website is also equipped with the Google Analytics function, which is helpful for future data analytics purposes and supervising performance. The project team built a static website instead of a dynamic one as initiation after a comparison that meets all the sponsor’s demands and can be updated easily in future development. The website consists of preliminary information about the company’s products, services scope, and successful experience. It includes four pages: the main page, the product page, the project page, and the contact page.
During the three months, several minor issues happened during the project, but with efficient communication and supportive clients, any problem was solved immediately, and the project closed well without delay. The Google Analytics tool operates well. The first data report did not record much data because of the short time limitation and low website traffic. However, there is no influence on the function’s operation. The whole website was delivered as the project charter and achieved WBS on time. All the deliverables were submitted, reviewed, and approved by the sponsor and met the sponsor’s requirements.
According to the sponsor, the Covid-19 pandemic causes a delay for Tailong’s business initiation. More website features and functions are still in Tailong’s plan, like social media information, office location, clients’ registration, and even e-commerce. There will also be updates about promotion events added to the website in the future. All the marketing strategies about Google search, Google ADs, social media will also be covered to gain clients acquisition and develop business conversion when trade reopens. For Tailong, this website is just a start. The project group will keep helping add more functions and content to the website after they offer complete marketing analysis and social media information. The project team will also offer suggestions for their future data analysis and marketing strategy.
Limitations, Recommendations and Scope for Future Work
The website is in operation, and sound displays Tailong’s business information. The Google Analytics function has been successfully set up on Tailong’s website and records every day’s site data. However, some limitations are bothering the website’s performance:
The contact limitation:
As a traditional Chinese company, Tailong uses a WeChat account instead of what is up, Facebook or Twitter. Since it is about to expand overseas business, worldwide social media accounts are necessary. Without timely contact information, even clients who come on the website might hardly contact Tailong. Tailong will miss many potential clients even if they are already on the website. In the future, after the Tailong company gets social accounts, I will help add these contact information and logos on the contact page, which will help clients contact the company and enhance users’ experience and retention.
The traffic limitation:
As a new company and new website without any other marketing campaign, there is not much traffic to the website. Google Analytics is not able to record enough data either. In the future, Google ads, social media marketing, cooperation with influencers, and other marketing strategies could be initiated to help attract more users and gain more data to enhance business performance.
The feature limitation:
Under the Covid-19’s impact, the manufacturing efficiency is slow. Even worse is the slow shipment and delivery. Considering the distance between China and America, the company has not initiated an online purchase function or users’ acquisition strategy. The website has limited ways of interacting with users that will impact users’ interest. In the future, the Tailong company will need to add more functions and features to the website to help retain more users and enhance business performance. The website will also be changed to a dynamic website from the static one. A Tailong company needs to spend more on a functional server and analytic applications.
Time and budget limitation:
A good website needs three to four months. Because of the limited time and budget, there was no fancy template or functional server, and everything started from the beginning of the project team. The features of the website are not rich. Besides, as a new website, Google Analytics cannot capture high traffic without enough time and awareness. In the future, the website will be more prosperous. The website and the Google Analytics tool will perform better as the company grows.
In conclusion, the company is exploring and developing. The project is accomplished as anticipated. But the website is just a start not only for Tailong’s business expansion but also its adjustment and opinion. When putting together a new website, the number of changes in the concept, content, navigation, execution, and just about anything else occurs at a very rapid pace. It is OK to adjust strategy along the way if it makes sense. As Tailong moves forward, change is constant and unavoidable. The project team is also delighted to help the Tailong company gain success.
Literature Survey
Introduction
Businesses have gone online as well, given the amount of time individuals spend on the internet.
For business owners of any size, having a website and a social media presence has become critical. If you run a business and don’t have a website, you could be missing out on a lot of prospective consumers. Understanding the value of a website is critical to expanding your business exponentially. (Sagar Waykar, 2020)
This literature review was organized in three aspects: web page layout design, proper web content design, and interface functionality design for the water park equipment manufacture industry.
A website layout is a design pattern (or framework) that defines the structure of a website. It creates distinct navigation paths within web pages and prioritizes the most crucial aspects of a website. Visitors will be guided throughout the website by content, which must effectively communicate your message to them. In a nutshell, website layouts are key components that determine whether a website succeeds or fails. (Bhavana, M. T. S. M., 2018)
Web content can be divided into two categories: text and multimedia. Content is the most crucial factor in driving traffic to a website. To manage web material, publishers should organize it according to the audience’s needs.
Website functionality refers to the ease with which a person can navigate your site, find the information they need, and/or buy the goods they desire. Users have different preferences when talking about websites’ priority of utility or aesthetics. The following part will illustrate the detail of the three parts when building the website and discuss the best choice for the website of this project. (Manhas, J., 2017)
Website layout
Users become frustrated by a lousy layout and leave the site fast since they can’t locate what they’re looking for. An intelligent layout keeps users on the site because it makes crucial information easily available and straightforward to find. (Stoeva, M., 2021). When creating a simple website for your small business, website layouts create the content hierarchy. People should determine the website goals before starting to design a layout/browse through layout templates. They could be used to advertise things, increase traffic, or simply charm users with art. The website layout should be determined by the website’s objectives. It will cause select users to behave in ways that lead to the achievement of those objectives. (Wu, W. Y., 2014)
Popular and effective website layouts include:
- The Zig-Zag Layout
The Zig-Zag layout shows content from left to right, from top to bottom.
- The F Layout,
The F-shape layout follows scanning behavior, where the eyes scan a page in an F-letter pattern.
- Full-Screen
The design entails strewing text across a full-screen photo or image. Text or menu will support the “alive” vision.
- Headline and Thumbnails Gallery Layout
It consists of image miniatures that lead to complete descriptions of the topics, as well as headlines (brief presentations) that serve as a guide around the image album.
- One-Column Layout
The material (text, photographs, and videos) is straightforward, and scanning is simply a matter of recognizing significant points of interest in that single column.
Additionally, single-column layouts are ideal for mobile experiences.
- Featured Image Layout
Setting up a featured image indicative of each page of the website is one of the most used layouts nowadays. The image is used to draw attention and interest to a focal point that represents the page’s subject. ( Iulian, 2018)
Website contents
Website content includes text and multimedia content. Text contents can also include good internal links that help visitors get access to more information. Another kind of web content is multimedia, which refers to any content which is not text, like software, photos, archived email messages, e-services, audio and video files, and other creative elements. The website content is an essential factor in driving traffic to a website. The most critical aspect of a good website is creating captivating content and grouping it into numerous categories for simple browsing. It’s also crucial to optimize online content for search engines to respond to the search terms entered. (Thielsch, M. T, 2019)
Website functionality
Website functionality refers to what your website can do and how it works.
It includes everything from a user’s ability to conduct tasks to dynamic material and interactivity. The proper functionality is critical to a website’s success, and it should be a priority during the planning stage. (Ian Misiak, 2020)
People should have a clear scope of the things your website will offer before it is written, designed, or coded. When doing functionality planning, we should figure out the Website’s purpose. Make a list of all the features that are crucial to your goals. Then make sure to target audience and audience needs and choose features that best enable the visitors to browse the website efficiently. (Tandon, U,2018)
Websites can be divided into static website and dynamic website, dynamic websites always have a long load time, static website’s URL is user-friendly, so ranking a static website is easier than ranking a dynamic website; dynamic website help website be more complex and greatly functional, the disadvantage is that they take longer to construct and have greater beginning expenses. (Coelho, J., 2007)
Combine the content, features and budget, you should decide which website type you will choose.
A functional website is more likely to attract more visitors, keep them on your site longer, and allow (and even help) them to convert into leads and eventually customers.
Conclusions
The existing research around the website building offers a draft and design for this project’s website. When discussing the conclusion of how the website will be, we should consider quality content, website layout, site speed, user engagement, site navigation, time limitation, and budget limitation.
As the Tailong waterpark equipment manufacturing company’s products are large, and the product list is clear and stable. About their new products’ innovation and design, the process typically takes a long time which means the website’s content shouldn’t change frequently. Besides, this project is under a limited budget and time. So, all the literature review concluded that it’s better to choose a static website to ensure the search ranking and load speed and satisfy company and business’ content requirements. (Suehring, S., 2013). This website will utilize the zig-zag layout and the headline-and-thumbnails gallery layout. The website content will focus on the display company’s products and projects. These contents will be images and text. Videos will also be considered. In the text, there will be detail about all the products and projects shown beside. The website will contain a navigation bar that will include a company profile, products, business scope, service, and projects. (Lee, Y., 2006)

Situational Analysis
Industry Analysis
Manufacturing firms convert raw materials into new products using mechanical, physical, or chemical processes and assemble parts into new, complicated commodities. The value of the US dollar, commodity prices, governmental decisions, and US manufacturing capacity all play a role in the sector’s revenue performance. Trade wars between the US and China have resulted in higher tariffs between the two countries and a drop in overall export levels. The trade limitations and the possibility of higher tariff rates in the US are also likely to contribute to a decline in the value of imports.
Currently, the value of industry exports has declined due to commodity price volatility, trade disputes, and coronavirus-induced weak global demand. In 2019 and 2020, the industry’s revenue suffered the most significant decline due to the COVID-19. The surge in coronavirus-related costs, as well as commodity price instability, are likely to eat into industry earnings over the next few years.
While the impacts of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic are expected to linger for a while, the manufacturing industry is expected to rebound in the coming years. Commodity prices are expected to stabilize due to coronavirus-induced instability and regained demand in both the US and global economies, allowing manufacturers to increase revenue. Over the following five years, revenue is predicted to rise at an annualized rate of 0.8 percent to $6.2 trillion.

Competitors
When focusing on water park equipment manufacturing, three major competitors for TAILONG Amusement Inc are Whitewater Company, Proslide Technology Inc, and Splashtacular Company. Whitewater is a Canadian company with rich experience and a good engineering team. Their business spreads to a lot of countries. They own lots of industry rewards. Proslide Technology Inc is specialized in water slides and finished lots of big projects in America. Splashtacular is also a local water park equipment company. They own their products and can customize the materials and size. TAILONG Amusement Inc holds many related patents and focuses on not only giant slides, beach creation but also small water park slides and equipment. And TAILONG also has good supplies to get good material at a low price. The price and extensive business scope will also be a significant advantage compared to the other three big water park equipment companies.
Since this project focuses on TAILONG’s official company website, here is also a figure of the competitors’ website functions compare.

Stakeholders
As the first generation of water amusement equipment manufacturers in China, TAILONG grew into a full-process service provider integrating design, manufacturing, commissioning, operation, and production. The company puts product quality first, focuses on customer requirements and benefits of utilization, and insists on technological innovation and cultural innovation.
As the company requires and manager’s idea, the website will fully display the company philosophy, products, projects, and contact info. This company website will be a new international platform to open overseas markets, strengthen company competition, and help build reliability and awareness.
The internal stakeholder will be the general manager, who will control the website’s process and content. Execution groups include the designer team, manufacturing team, and contribution team will also be the internal stakeholders. They will constantly enhance efficiency and qualification and can do more innovation and customized development—besides, company development teams and marketers who will likely gain more overseas clients.
Material suppliers and overseas clients are external stakeholders. This website will offer a channel to overseas clients. Families, communities, real estate, and water park operators will have access to TAILONG’s high-quality products at the proper price and enjoy reliable customized design, equipment installation, and good service.
Stakeholder Analysis:
Table 17-5 Stakeholder Analysis
Porter’s Five Force Analysis:
Table Error! No text of specified style in document.-1 Porter’s Five Force Analysis
| Porter’s Five Force Analysis | ||
| Project: Website for TAILONG Amusement Company | ||
| Forces | Level | Explanation |
| The threat of New Entrants | High | The barriers to building a company website are low. Any company can hire web developers to create a company website. But the water park equipment manufacturing itself is moderately capital intensive and has a relatively high and steady barrier to entry, with its high technology requirements, innovation ability, strict safety assurance, patents requirement, and up-front high fixed cost of manufacturing. As a brilliant water park equipment manufacturing company, a company website will be a necessary step for the company to access overseas markets. (Kevin Kennedy, 2021) |
| Competition from Substitutes | Weak | The application software is the only substitute for a company’s official website. Both app and website have their advantages. Private clients like to use mobile devices to gain information everywhere. Company clients are more likely to browse the official website to get official information and product details. Nothing can be a substitute for the website to better access company clients. Tailong is a Chinese company, and its website can also deal with time-different problems and display all business 24 hours. As a result, substitution pressure is minimal. |
| Buyer Power | Strong | The primary buyer of this project is the project sponsor. He represents Tailong to fund this web development project. He decides the budget and requirements. Hence, the pressure from buyers is intense. Besides, there is no salary pressure for them because the project is free. Tailong, a Chinese water park equipment manufacturer who can produce the same product at a lower cost, will capture market share through the website and gain more clients. |
| Supplier Power | Moderate | The sponsor and professors are considered “supply” in this project. The sponsor, also as a buyer, will offer enough content and detail of website requirements. The professor as an instructor also positively provides help. At the company level, suppliers will be the material supplies and labor. The cost is creasing but still relatively low compared to American manufacturing companies. |
| Rivalry | Strong | The level of competition in this industry is moderate, with an upward trend. Price, product design and durability, brand strength, and product diversity are among them. The expense of constructing a water park is prohibitively expensive for most potential consumers. (Kevin Kennedy, 2021) But Tailong is a Chinese manufacturer who can produce the same product at a lower cost. The company likely gain clients through efficient production and low price when overseas clients know them on the website. As the COVID-19 is managed in the following years, increased inbound travel to the United States will promote water parks demand. More companies may invest in the water park industry. Families and communities will also be potential buyers when the products are at a reasonable price. The company website will help Tailong reach overseas clients, help them build brand awareness, and gain profit. |

Software development process consists of computer programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing. It also includes the creating and maintaining of applications and frameworks involved in software development life cycle. The software development in a broader sense refers to the process of writing and maintaining the source code. Web development is the process of developing web applications which involves web design, web content development, client liaison, client-side/server-side scripting, web server security configurations, network security configurations and e-commerce development [3]. For efficient development of both the systems it is wrong to consider software and web development as on entity.
In current web development process models, the involved firms and various web development houses must follow specific methodologies, standards, and guidelines specified by various organizations. This article explains the initial framework for website design and development. It includes various models traditionally used for website development, which offer many actionable methodologies for this website project and guidelines for website builders.

The perception of site content can be measured by how informative it is if it provides detailed and specific information on products or other relevant topics. He further indicated that specific product information positively related to the attitude toward the website. In addition, web interface design plays an important role in affecting customers’ attitude toward the website, stating that “a website design that is more conducive to users’ tasks will generate more positive attitude among users and increase their willingness to revisit the website.” Design factors can be viewed as store environment elements that are more visual in nature than ambient factors.
This study helps website developers build insight into website layout. It emphasizes the importance of the layout of a website. According to this study, online shopping has received much attention due to substantial ramifications for both buyers and sellers; as a result, store layout design has a substantial impact on emotional arousal and attitude toward the website and has a good impact on purchase intent. Furthermore, the ambiance from different layouts has a different impact on clients’ emotional reactions. A good layout is not only a simply beautiful design. When selecting a layout, it might be useful to also consider the Gestalt law of closure. It says that, even if an image shape is not complete, the human eye tends to fill in the visual gaps and recognize the image as a whole. How can this be of use to you?
You won’t pay attention to details, rather focusing on the global view of the pages forming the website; users will find themselves the meaning path.
You pay attention to details, using some additional seconds to grow the engagement exponentially.
You intentionally won’t pay attention to details, letting originality speak for itself; users will find themselves the meaning path, and they will keep a strong memory of your website.
This article strengthens the importance of a proper layout for a website. It also introduces different website layouts and their basic rules for choosing the proper website design and layout. From this article, project members can select several proper layouts for Tailong’s website according to Tailong company’s requirements and business image.

The informativeness scale assesses the perceived amount of valuable and useful information given in a website. This facet of website content perception is incorporated in many existing measures of website content The g-factor we found was most strongly related to the informativeness factor, indicating that this facet is central to the overall perception of website content. However, in different settings the relevance of the different facets may shift, for example, credibility might be more important when banking or shopping websites are rated than it is when leisure websites are rated.
This study profoundly states the importance of website content: Subjective perceptions of content have been shown to influence a range of user assessments, affecting attitudes and behavioral results. As a result, for better performance, it is critical to take both website development and possible personal experience the content aspects bring into consideration during the whole website project.

The more technically sound the site is, both in the front and back end, the better. There are lots of ways you can improve your website technically to enhance performance, but I’m going to discuss two major types of improvements you can make: UX and SEO, and ADA compliance.
According to the article, the algorithms and functionality of search engines drive web design. This article illustrates websites’ functionality and how important website functionality is and explains a website’s UX and SEO. This article will help us go through the process of defining our website’s functionality requirements.

Maintenance of a large website can be a tedious and difficult task. If the website is built by many different people, the problem increases considerably. Now, suppose we want to impose certain type of restrictions on the content provided in this website. For example, imagine you administer a faculty website, and you want to guarantee that all the teachers provide information on their personal home pages about the courses they teach and about their scientific research. There is an also lot of information that can be used to infer more information.
This paper introduces two website styles: the static website and the dynamic website. It introduces the difference and the rules between a static website and a dynamic website. The content also shows a simple approach for improving and auditing Web site content and choosing a static website or a dynamic website.

10. Lee, Y., & Kozar, K. A. (2006). Investigating the effect of website quality on e-business success: An analytic hierarchy process (AHP) approach. Decision support systems, 42(3), 1383-1401.
This study found that online customers perceived different importance of website quality factors in different e-business domains. While the top ranked website quality factors were similar, the ranking order was different. For example, in an online travel domain, information relevance was the most important factor, while navigation was the most important factor in an online electronic domain. The result is similar to a recent finding in marketing literature [10] asserting that customers’ importance varies depending on the types of products, technology, or services. Therefore, the findings of this study are effective only for online electronics and travel domains, not all e-business domains. Further study to reveal the relative importance of website quality factors in a particular e-business domain is recommended.
This study investigated the importance of website quality variables in selecting the most preferred website and the relationship between website choice and financial performance. The project manager can discuss these concerns with the sponsor and find more optimal project plans and solutions. Website builders can pay attention to some essential parts when building websites from this study.
11. Bhavana, M. T. S. M., Venkatarammana, T., & Suresh, K. (2018). Analysis of Customer’s behavior in E-commerce website.
In the field of e-commerce, most data mining techniques process server logs to extract the sequences of user navigation events. Nevertheless, these sequences are not directly mined; instead, each sequence is transformed into a session characterization. A characterization usually consists of a set of high-level data summarizing what happened during the user’s navigation. Users of any e-commerce site navigate through the different web pages executing two types of interactions: either a GET operation to retrieve some information or a POST operation, usually requesting the website to execute some action, such as adding some product to the cart, buying some product, logging in, etc. The website log records such actions together with some associated information, such as the IP the user is connected from or the time at which the interaction occurs, for instance.
This paper studies the data of online shoppers’ interests and behavior and emphasizes the importance of adapting e-commerce websites to customers’ requirements. The study results propose some improvements in the website design to increase its efficiency. The analysis of such information has focused on applying data mining techniques, which hints at the importance of setting up Google Analytics and reminds website designers to consider clients browsing behavior when creating the website.
12.Stoeva, M. (2021). EVOLUTION OF WEBSITE LAYOUT TECHNIQUES.
The purpose of the CSS float property is to position a block-level element to the left or right side of the flow in relation to other block elements. This allows naturally flowing content to wrap around the defined floated element. This idea is similar to the print materials, where images are aligned to the one side while the other content like text or another graphics flow naturally around the lector right-aligned elements. Each floated element should have an explicitly set width, which ensures that the float behaves as expected and helps to avoid visual problems in certain browsers. Most of the layout issues with floats are usually fixed with usage of the CSS clear property. It lets developers to “clear” floated elements from the desired side: from one or both sides of an element. In the web literature is possible to be found a lot of articles that described float-related issues Maya Stoeva in-depth.
The layout technologies and approaches for website creation have altered a few times since the HTML language was established. The paper revealed the evolution of website layout technologies and front-end frameworks over the years. The article also offers an outline of some of their future perspectives. The content helps our web designers and developers find a better method of building this website.
