How can I donate to the Ukraine crisis?
Firstly, why would people donate to a big international NGO?
Moreover, one that does not submit enough information to CharityNavigator.org, for a rating.
Secondly, there are so many options closer to the tragedy, with limited overhead.
This is not meant to be a political statement, it’s just math. Furthermore, how do we get as much money to the crisis as fast as possible?
One way is to literally just give it to Ukraine, as in their central bank: https://bank.gov.ua/en/about/support-the-armed-forces
Is Putin Losing the War in Ukraine?
In addition, if you want to get medical supplies to the troops, as a result of the heavy Russian indiscriminate shelling: https://fundly.com/medical-kits-for-ukrainian-defense
Here is a list of highly-rated charities doing a variety of things, primarily for refugees: https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=content.view&cpid=9366
In conclusion, if you are thinking of donating to an arm of the United Nations (other than UNICEF) However, maybe that’s not as effective as you might think–see my post on that. Like the International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC,. Lastly, they spend a lot of money on ads to get you to give to them (just google “donate Ukraine” to see what I mean).
