It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Edwin Gonzalez-Rosendo, aged 15, who drowned while on vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Edwin, a resident of North Carolina, lost his life on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, while swimming in the ocean. Despite the best efforts of lifeguards and rescue crews, Edwin was unable to be saved, and his body was recovered the following evening.
Edwin was a beloved son, brother, and friend, known for his kind heart, his love for his family, and his infectious smile. He was a bright young man with a promising future, who brought joy and warmth to everyone around him. Edwin’s gentle spirit and compassionate nature will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
On that fateful Saturday evening, Edwin and another swimmer found themselves in distress while in the water. Rescue crews were able to save the other swimmer, but tragically, Edwin disappeared beneath the waves. His body washed ashore the following day, leaving his family and friends devastated by his untimely loss.
