Dr. Iman Honarvar is Director of Quant Research and Deputy Head of Next Gen Research at Robeco, where he has spent nearly a decade driving innovation in systematic investing and quantitative finance. His work focuses on designing cutting-edge research frameworks, integrating advanced data science into investment processes, and shaping the future of quant strategies within one of Europe’s leading asset managers.
Alongside his leadership role at Robeco, Dr. Honarvar serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Amsterdam’s Master in Finance program and previously lectured at Erasmus School of Economics, where he taught and mentored the next generation of financial researchers. He has also contributed as a consultant with FinLab Solutions and worked in risk management and research roles across Europe, gaining broad experience at the intersection of finance, data, and innovation.
He earned his PhD in Finance from Maastricht University under the supervision of Prof. Dennis Bams, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management under Prof. Peter Christoffersen. He holds an MSc in Financial Engineering from EPFL, where he worked under Prof. Semyon Malamud, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. His career reflects a blend of academic rigor, practical expertise, and leadership in advancing quantitative research for global markets.
