Dave Moran Obituary
The Northern Arizona Wranglers of the Indoor Football League are deeply saddened by the passing of assistant coach Dave Moran. Who tragically died Monday night after collapsing at the team’s arena in Prescott Valley a few days earlier.
Moran served as the team’s defensive coordinator and special teams coach for four seasons. His collapse occurred before the team’s game on Saturday at Findlay Toyota Center, where he received immediate attention from team personnel until paramedics arrived. He passed away on Monday evening, as announced in a statement by the team on its Facebook page. The cause of death not disclosed.
“Coach Moran’s impact on our lives cannot be overstated,” said Fred DePalma, team owner and president, in the statement. “His passion for the game and his unwavering belief in his players’ abilities pushed them to be better on and off the field. He embodied the values of teamwork, resilience, and perseverance.”

“Tonight I ask everyone to say a prayer for Coach Moran and his family of the Northern Arizona Wranglers,” Menas said. “We are a close-knit fraternity of coaches in the IFL. We compete, fight, argue, and above all, respect and genuinely care for each other. This moment transcends sport; it is about the brotherhood we share. When one of us hurts, we all hurt.”
Moran graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Valley in 2006, where he played as a quarterback on the football team. Furthermore, he later returned to coach at his alma mater in 2014, according to the Arizona Interscholastic Association. In addition, he continued his football career playing for Oregon State and Northern Arizona in college.
