Dana was a beloved member of the community, known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a devoted stepfather, family member, and friend, whose sudden and untimely death has left his loved ones in profound grief.

On the day of the incident, Mount Oliver police were dispatched to Jucunda Street at 12:14 p.m. following reports of multiple gunshots. Shortly thereafter, a second call reported a man had been shot on Amanda Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities found Dana suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Dana was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:39 p.m.

The previous day, police had responded to a domestic dispute between Dana and his stepson, Rasheed Horne, which had resulted in injuries to Horne. Tragically, this altercation escalated, leading to the fatal shooting the following day.

Rasheed Horne has since turned himself in to authorities and has been charged with criminal homicide and carrying a gun without a license. He is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail without bail.
