It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Dakota R. Driskell, age 19, of West Plains, Missouri. Dakota tragically lost her life in a car accident early Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024.
Born on September 12, 2004, Dakota was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend. Known for her bright smile, kind heart, and adventurous spirit, she touched the lives of many in her community. Dakota was a recent graduate of West Plains High School and had aspirations of pursuing a career that allowed her to make a difference in the world.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:42 a.m. on KK Highway in Ozark County, six miles west of Pottersville. According to Sgt. L.S. Elliott of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dakota was driving an eastbound 2000 Dodge Dakota when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree. She was transported by Lifecall Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, where she was pronounced dead at 4:36 a.m. by Dr. Billy Holt.
Dakota is survived by her loving family, including her parents, siblings, and numerous relatives and friends who are deeply mourning her loss. Her memory will live on through the cherished moments and the love she shared with everyone around her.
