Chris Kelliher is a distinguished figure in the world of quantitative analysis and financial technology, whose career path reflects a profound blend of academic insight and practical expertise. Currently holding the position of Quantitative Analyst at Fidelity Investments since May 2019, Chris has built a career that spans various high-profile roles in the finance sector, demonstrating his versatility and depth of knowledge.

Chris’s educational background laid a strong foundation for his career. He began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Math from Gordon College (2000-2004), where he developed a keen understanding of economic theory and quantitative methods. His pursuit of knowledge took him to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2003, further enriching his perspective on global financial systems. Chris then advanced his specialization by obtaining a Master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from New York University’s prestigious Courant Institute, completed in 2013. This period marked a significant deepening of his skills in financial mathematics and its applications.

Kelliher’s professional journey commenced at Morgan Stanley, where he served as an Intern at Smith Barney from 2002 to 2004. This early experience in a leading global financial services firm provided him with invaluable insights into the industry. Following this, he joined Mellon Financial Corporation as a Software Engineer (2004-2005), where his role involved complex problem-solving and technical innovation.

In January 2006, Chris expanded his skill set by taking up the role of Database Administrator & Business Intelligence Developer at AEW Capital Management. This role, which he held for over a year, involved managing databases and developing business intelligence solutions, showcasing his ability to intersect technology and finance.

Chris’s expertise in quantitative finance truly began to flourish at Bracebridge Capital, where he worked as a Senior Quantitative Researcher from March 2007 to February 2015. His eight-year tenure here was marked by significant contributions to quantitative research methods in finance. He then moved to Convexity Capital Management as a Senior Quantitative Portfolio Analyst (2015-2017), where he applied his quantitative skills to portfolio analysis and management.

In July 2017, Chris joined FDO Partners as a Principal, a role he held for seven months before moving to RDC Capital Partners in 2018 as a Portfolio Manager. His time here, though brief, was impactful in managing portfolios with a keen eye on market trends and financial analysis.

Currently, Chris also dedicates his time to academia, serving as the Executive Director of Masters in Math Finance and Financial Technology at Boston University since September 2023. This role, combined with his prior experience as a Lecturer (2018-2023) at the same institution, underscores his commitment to educating the next generation of financial professionals. Chris brings a wealth of practical experience to his teaching, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the finance industry.
