The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on GA-135 near Gaskin Spring Road. This tragic incident marks the second deadly hit-and-run in South Georgia within just three days. Earlier, on Sunday, September 22, another man was killed outside his home in a hit-and-run incident in Mitchell County.
According to GSP, troopers were called to the scene around 5:47 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24. However, GSP Trooper Bristol reported that the incident is believed to have taken place around 8 p.m. on Monday, September 23, although the victim was not discovered until 4:15 a.m. the next day.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving these tragic cases.
