The family of Brayden Charles Allen, a 19-year-old from Picton, Marlborough, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of their beloved son, following a tragic car accident over the weekend. The incident occurred when the vehicle, carrying five people, veered off the road and plunged into a river at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Bush Rd in Tuamarina, north of Blenheim, in the early hours of Sunday.
Emergency services arrived at the scene at 1:45 a.m., where two individuals were able to escape the wreckage. Sadly, three people were unaccounted for at the time. Later that day, the bodies of the missing were recovered, and Brayden was identified as one of the victims.
