NASA Receives $20.7 Billion for 2018

For the 2018 fiscal year, the United States Congress has approved funding for NASA that came in nearly 10% above the amount actually requested by the agency. After years of a shrinking budget under the Obama administration, NASA is seeing green. After hitting a low in funding of $17.4 billion in 2012, NASA is seeing nearly 20% extra capital in 2018, thus allowing for the formulation of more aggressive missions. This in turn is music to the ears of SpaceX, OrbitalATK, and the other space contractors. With extra capital up for grabs, more development and innovation will come sooner than expected. Maybe life on Mars isn't so far away?
