Better.com Fires 900+ Employees Over Work From Home Fraud Better.com CEO Vishal Garg Says Some Employees Only Working 2 Hours A Day. Furthermore, CEO Garg called the employees actions the equivalent of stealing from the company. Apparently Garg wrote the following in a memo to employees:
“You guys know that at least 250 of the people terminated were working an average of 2 hours a day while clocking in 8 hours+ a day in the payroll system? They were stealing from you and stealing from our customers who pay the bills that pay our bills. Get educated.”
Then Garg told Fortune Magazine the following:
“I think they could have been phrased differently, but honestly the sentiment is there.”
“If you felt in the past that people weren’t looking — well, everyone is looking now,” Garg said in the meeting.
Furthermore, in the same Fortune Magazine interview, Garg said terminated employees who feel they “actually had great performance” should contact the company.
As a result of CEO Garg’s actions at Better.com, will other companies follow suit and attack work from home as a failed concetp? Lastly, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon called it inefficient. Maybe this is the beginning of the end of work from home?
