AWS Goes Down : AWS Suffers Global Outage Amazon Web Service suffered a downage period across several continents.
In fact the AWS dashboard published this statement:
“We have executed a mitigation which is showing significant recovery in the US-EAST-1 Region.“
Furthermore, “We are continuing to closely monitor the health of the network devices and we expect to continue to make progress towards full recovery.”
Lastly, “We still do not have an ETA for full recovery at this time.”
Moreover, outages occured at several other sites as well.
From Disney to Facebook data firms across the internet registered significant outages yesterday at around 12:00 ET/15:30 GMT. Furthermore, lasting for several minutes and longer in certain cases.
Was this an act of cyber crime?
Or was this simply as the result of too much volume or traffic that servers couldn’t handle. Moreover, servers relying on other servers creates a potential domino for tech firms.
Over the last year we have seen how delicate technology firms’ products can be with Facebook’s site falling for hours a few short months ago.
Many believed that was a cyber situation, however it turned out to be overworked hardware that couldn’t keep up with the volume requirements.
