Au’Terrious Walter, 16, of Selma, Alabama, Passes Away
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Au’Terrious Walter, a 16-year-old sophomore at Selma High School, who tragically passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Au’Terrious was a bright and promising young student, remembered fondly for his potential and dedication. His passing has left the entire Selma City Schools community in mourning. Superintendent Zickeyous Byrd shared his condolences, describing Au’Terrious as a “student scholar” who had a bright future ahead of him.
The Walter family has requested privacy as they grieve this devastating loss, and the community is asked to respect their wishes during this difficult time. Counseling services will be made available to Au’Terrious’ classmates and schoolmates in the days ahead.
Funeral arrangements will be shared at a later time. The Selma community grieves alongside the Walter family and will continue to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
