Austen was a man of many talents and began his journey in the world of Information Technology, Computer Science, and Information Systems at Metro State University, where he was actively involved in S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) programs.
Career
Austen had an illustrious career spanning over two decades, starting as an On-site Superintendent for Turn-Key Solutions and Thomas Grace Construction. His early years were shaped by his skills in coordinating large commercial remodel projects. And interacting with a variety of contractors.
In 2007, he ventured into entrepreneurship with APC Construction in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area, gaining extensive experience in real estate and construction management. His dedication to delivering results on time and under budget made him a trusted figure in the industry.
From 2011 to 2022, Austen pivoted his focus to human resources and talent management. He worked in various roles, such as Resource Development Manager at Modis IT and Director of Talent Programs at Amherst Holdings. His skills in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and strategic planning made him a sought-after professional.
However, Austen’s entrepreneurial spirit called him back, and he founded Austin Patio Concepts in April 2023, where he fulfilled his passion for transforming outdoor spaces. His venture specialized in designing and installing pergolas, gazebos, and other high-end patio features.

Austen was not just a business-minded individual; he was deeply committed to giving back to the community. He was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity International and Mobile Loaves & Fishes, focusing on poverty alleviation.
