On October 31, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a fatal collision occurred on MN Highway 7 near Vale Avenue in Acoma Township, McLeod County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2019 Ford Ecosport traveling eastbound collided with a westbound 2019 Ford F550. The road conditions were reported as snowy and icy at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Ford Ecosport, 77-year-old Audrey Patricia Lankey from Hutchinson, MN, tragically sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Hutchinson Hospital. Authorities confirmed that airbags were deployed, and Lankey was wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The Minnesota State Patrol and local agencies, including McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Hutchinson Police Department, Hutchinson Fire Department, and Allina Ambulance, responded to the scene.
