Amazon Building Collapse : At least 6 dead in Amazon facility collapse in Illinois

Amazon Building Collapse Over the weekend a deadly building collapse occured in Illinois killing at least 6 people inside. What makes matters worse is that it is an Amazon.com warehouse facility, a company known for its draconian practices with workers. Especially a rule that bans phones in the workplace. Moreover, in a building collapse a phone is a very necessary item.

Now questions are mounting about Amazon and this facility in particular. As a result, of a lightning speed rollout throughout the country to become the dominant retailer, people wonder how many corners were cut?

The Illinois facility got tornado warnings Friday between 8:06 p.m. and 8:16 p.m. At 8:27 p.m., the tornado struck.

An Amazon spokesperson said, “We’re deeply saddened by the news that members of our Amazon family passed away as a result of the storm in Edwardsville, IL.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their loved ones, and everyone impacted by the tornado. We also want to thank all the first responders for their ongoing efforts on scene. We’re continuing to provide support to our employees and partners in the area,”

Generally the questions that arise are:
