Alternative Data Firm Thinknum Faces Problems
Thinknum employees haven’t been paid in April and if you email the co-founder Justin Zhen you receive the message “I am currently on leave. For urgent inquiries, please contact gregory.ugwi@thinknum.com.”
We heard that Justin has been fired and there are stories abound that they have no cash and people are leaving.
One employee, Matthew John Partridge posted on Linkedin:
“Life can be humbling.
In 24 hours a lot can change.
One moment you can be on top of the world.
The next moment and the world can be on top of you.
How you choose to respond determines your fate.
I recently came across some earth shattering information.
One that affects myself and many around me.
I’ve been trying to make sense of it.
In most cases, news like this can be debilitating.
In this case, I’ll make sure I end up on top.
How we respond to information is usually more important than the information itself.
It’s important to stay resilient despite the chaos around you.”
Another Thinknum employee posted:
Michael Hochstat, 14 hours ago:
“Justin Zhen why did you cook the books
So sad”
Thinknum CEO Gregory Ugwi, when we reached out to him this morning, said he will release a statement in a few weeks.
